Hey, I got same thing. :( And I have read other forums you need the original stock rom for flashing. My PC detects the phone as MTK usb port (com4) and when flashing a rom with SP_flastool it gives the same error as you. If someone knows where to get the ORGIGINAL STOCK ROM for Star N9500 4gb...

Do you already solve the problem? That sounds familiar to me. Ignore that. Do not worry about that the device does not appear in device manager as long as you have installed the drivers correctly and successfully, then everything is fine. You can check the Device Manager (show hidden devices)...

Hey jluismo. Did you get any solution to your broblem? I have this same issue, and I would not want to send my phone back to China. If there is some other solution for this. I allready ordered new battery for the phone fom aliexpress. That should be the 100% original battery for n9500. Thanks. :)
